P90X Day 8

Chest and Back, Ab Ripper: Week 2

The start of week 2! I am so happy I made it through my first week. It was tough but I did it! I am pushing myself as hard as I can! I am proud to say I was able to do a few more push ups than I could do on day 1. That proves I am getting stronger. I did not get dizzy or nauseous this time! I upped my weight also. I am using the bands for my pull ups and I upped the resistance on the bands too. I am pushing to be able to do my first real pull up by the halfway point. I am starting to feel good about myself again! It's only one week in but I am already seeing a flatter stomach. My weight has actually gone up a few pounds. I am attributing that to some water retention due to the weight training.

Ab Ripper X was a good workout today. I felt like I could do more than last week. I am pushing really hard on this too. I want to have a nice looking stomach once the fat is gone. My core is getting much stronger. Yesterday after dinner was the first time since I can remember that I got up from the table and my lower back did not hurt! I'm sure that a lot of the little aches and pains that I just chalked up to aging will slowly start to go away!

BRING IT!

P90X Day 7

So today was the last day of my first week! I did the X Stretch and it felt very good! I am thinking about doing this a few times a week in the evenings. Most likely on my strength training days. I am hoping to use it to head off some of the soreness I may get from upping my weight for week 2.

P90X Day 6

Well today was the Kenpo X workout and I absolutely loved it! I have always enjoyed kickboxing though. It was so fast and fun that it didn't feel like an hour at all. I was sweating buckets with this one! Some of the combination's can be a little tough to get the hang of, but that will come with time.

I think the DVD's are brainwashing me! I have never before looked forward to doing my workouts like I do these. It could just be that I have, mentally, made the full commitment to complete this program and give it all I have. Trust me, P90X is not something you can just try, you must be willing to jump in and Bring It, 100%, or you will just be setting yourself up for failure.

P90X Days 2, 3, 4 and 5

Day 2 Plyometrics

This workout, WOW! It was tough, I made it to the end though. I don't think I have ever sweat so much during a workout before. My legs were on fire and I was very nauseous during this one, I'm sure that will eventually go away. Hopefully by week 2 or 3! Because I started my P90X journey on a Thursday, I will be doing Plyometrics every Friday, except during recovery weeks, and I must say that is the only reason I will look forward to doing Plyometrics!

Day 3 Shoulders & Arms, Ab Ripper X

The shoulders and arms workout felt great. I was, however, very sore today. My quads were killing me. It hurt to sit down and it hurt to stand back up. So I know that I am bringing it with my workouts. If I wasn't sore that would mean I didn't push myself hard enough. My abs hurt the worst today though and it took everything I had to make it through Ab Ripper X. Since it was Saturday though, it was nice to have my husband around to chat with while I was working out! I think I pushed even harder because he was there!

Day 4 Yoga X

Trust me, this isn't your laid back "let's just get some good stretching done yoga". This workout is also a killer! There were quite a few moves that were very hard for me and some that I could barely do. I worked hard though and did the best I could do. It will get easier with time as I get more flexible. I found the first half to be the hardest. The moving yoga sequences are tough. The second half works on balance, this is what I am used to doing for yoga, so I found it to be a little easier. Only because I was more familiar with the poses. All in all Yoga X really stretched me out good. A lot of the soreness from the past few days went away and the rest of the day I felt good.

Day 5 Legs and Back, Ab Ripper X

I woke up this morning feeling the best I have felt since I started this journey. The back portion was just 4 different types of pull ups. The leg exercises, however, were tough. The amount of different types of squats was insane! I know that I will feel this workout in my calf's and quads come tomorrow morning! No Pain, No Gain! Ab Ripper X was much better today. I was able to do some of the movements better today than I could the first 2 times, so I know it's working and I will only improve more as I move forward!

P90X Day 1

I have just completed my first day of P90X! I am doing P90X Classic, so my first workout was Chest and Back + Ab Ripper. I must say it was pretty intense for resistance training. At one point I was feeling quite dizzy and by the end I wanted to puke! It has been a little over an hour since I finished and I am still slightly nauseous. All in all a great workout. Even though the workout is about an hour, it doesn't feel like it. The time flies by because there is very little down time between sets.

Tomorrow is Plyometrics and I am feeling a little nervous about it. I have read horror stories of it being the toughest workout in the P90X series. I am expecting I am going to be pretty sore come tomorrow morning but I have learned in the past to work through the soreness and I will feel better and recover faster! So far this is looking to be a fun journey. To make it easier on my mind, I am taking it 30 days at a time! See you tomorrow!
